Testing for Tuberculosis – Call for an Appointment or for more information – (440)576-6010 opt#2
ACHD gives TB skin tests if one is needed for school or work reasons. These are done on Fridays by appointment, and the patient comes back on the following Monday to have it read. The TB skin test is also called the Mantoux tuberculin skin test (TST). A TB skin test requires two visits with us. On the first visit the test is placed; on the second visit the health care provider reads the test.
• The TB skin test is a small injection into the skin on the lower part of the arm.
• The person must return within 48 to 72 hours (by appointment) to have a trained health care worker look for a reaction on the arm.
• The person will receive a card as proof of the results of the test.
Call ACHD with any questions or to make an appointment at (440)576-6010 opt#2.
